Expandable habitats may take us to Mars

'The Martian' would live here.

In Hollywood movies always see large structures on other planets. But, as they say space engineers, this would be impossible as there are problems like gravity.

If we build a space station in Earth orbit costs a lot of money. How much will cost if we want to live on Mars? So instead of building rigid metal structures, they are building flexible buildings that can be sent into space when they're deflated. That solution would be cheaper and easier.

Resultat d'imatges de Bigelow Expandable Activity ModuleBigelow's Expandable Activity Module, or BEAM, it is built for the purpose of expand when it arrived into space. The module will stay attached to the space station for two years to see how it withstands the harsh environment of space. It is made of several layers of a very strong material. If something hits the first layer, it fractures and breaks up.

They say that these habitats will only probationary that in the not near future these habitats will be more complete with all the needs we want.

In my opinion:

If this that they said is possible, it would mean that someday we could live on Mars. It would be amazing because imagine one day you get bored and decides to go to Mars. It would be as if instead of going on vacation to Hawaii we could go to Mars.

After this news we could say that many movies now aren't science fiction.
